  • Noon: Social Time

  • 12:30 : General Meeting

  • 1:30 : Program / Speaker

There are so many flowers available – how do we choose what to use? Karen Stoneham, floral artist, will show us techniques and ideas for stunning summer flower arrangements. Karen learned her craft through decades of work in her parents’ flower shop, San Jose Florist. She won design awards and studied with floral masters in the US, Holland and Belgium. Karen migrated to education and taught mathematics in public high schools, later, building and overseeing curriculum and instruction as a department chairwoman, new teacher advisor, and vice principal. In recent years, Karen has returned to her artistic and musical roots. She just finished a show of her mosaic artwork in Silicon Valley Open Studios. A multi-instrumentalist, Karen is the swinging drummer for the Top Shelf Big Band and the NTJazz ensemble at Savanna Jazz Club. Her floral designing business still flourishes at private parties and family events.

Visitors are welcome to attend - fee is $5. Judy Hogan, Program Chair
