Our 90th Anniversary Celebration is happening this month at our October meeting with a special luncheon. All members are requested to contribute a salad (with serving utensils) or other savory dishes to share - drop off by 11 AM. If you are an “October baby”, you many bring a sweet treat to share instead. In addition to celebrating our 90 years as a Club, we will also recognize our newest members. Plates and utensils will be provided, but please remember to be “GREEN” and bring your own drinking vessel. Bobbie Davis, Hospitality Chair

PLANNED PROGRAM/SPEAKER:

Talented designer, Kiwi DeVoy, is back by popular demand and will share the latest trends in holiday floral designs and will demonstrate the use of structural elements in arrangements that can turn “pretty” into “gorgeous” and “gorgeous” into “triple WOW!”

Kiwi is a prominent Floral Artist with over 30 years experience in floral design. She has been a contributor to Bouquets to Art, Holidays on a High Note at the Circus Club in Atherton, the Annual Fall Antiques Show at Fort Mason as well as exhibiting at the De Saisset Museum at Santa Clara University and at the annual Filoli Flower Show each spring.

Kiwi holds teacher’s degrees in two Schools of Ikebana – Sogetsu and Wafu, is a member of the World Association of Floral Artists and has exhibited her designs in Boston, Dublin, Ireland and at the Bagatelle in Paris. Most recently, Kiwi completed the vigorous year-long program in modern floral design as practiced in Europe and received the designation of EMC, as a holder of a European Master Certificate. A National Garden Clubs Master Flower Show Judge, Kiwi has a business, teaching and working with private clients for their special events.

Kiwi’s arrangements will be sold/auctioned off after her demonstration similar to the process at our March program. Reasonable prices will be assigned to the arrangements and if there is more than one person interested, a friendly bidding war will take place with the price raising in $5 increments per bid until only one survives - checks and cash will be accepted. Thanks to Ann Gazenbeek for helping with this terrific program.
