The Biology Of Fungi by Taylor Bright

Online Zoom meeting. Open to members only. For information on how to become a member, please send email to GCLAmembership@gmail.com.

Join us for a talk on the biology of fungi, living creatures that are more closely related to us than they are to plants. We will learn about their importance in our soil, in us and around us. Then we will find out how to grow mushrooms at home and in the garden.

Our speaker, Taylor Bright, is a multifaceted applied mycologist, ecological restoration practitioner, educator, writer and artist working to illuminate the ecological importance of the fungal Queendom and to promote the holistic regeneration of our Living Earth. She holds a BS in Biology and Environmental Science from The University of Central Florida as well as certifications in Permaculture Design, Ecosystem Restoration Design, and is a certified California Naturalist. Taylor is currently secretary and researcher for Bay Area Applied Mycology as well as project facilitator and educator for CoRenewal. These two applied mycological non-profits focus on community outreach & education as well as research & use of fungi to decontaminate soil in both California and Ecuador.
