THE GARDEN CLUB OF LOS ALTOS (a non profit) is proud to sponsor the Plant Exchange together with the Los Altos Recreation Department and support from the Los Altos History Museum.
Attention - due to the construction at Hillview Community Center, the Plant Exchange has been moved !! The Los Altos History Museum has kindly made space available west of the Museum. Turn into the Library driveway, drive past the Library to the first street to the left. There will be 2 parking places blocked off to allow us to drop-off plants, then park in the vicinity. Additional parking is down that street where the Los Altos Police Department, Los Altos Youth Center and City Hall are located.
LABEL ALL PLANTS
Include name and flower color.
The #1 reason for delay is unmarked plants. If you have your plants labeled, you can go directly to check in and save time.
DO BRING
Rooted plants in pots (optional for succulents)
Bulbs
Cuttings
Small shrubs or trees
Cut cell packs into 6 sections.
Divide large clumps like agapanthus, bamboos, society garlic (no need to pot).
DO NOT BRING
Unmarked plants--flower color at least -- (Often we can help ID at check-in)
Wilted plants
Weeds or invasive plants
Large undivided clumps (Too hard to manage)
HONOR SYSTEM OBSERVED HERE
Take in proportion to what you bring. Take only one of each type of plant, or 2-3 of a cutting or a bulb.
